Find us in north Paje village, 250m from the beach and 30m in front of the Seaweed Centre, look for the High Tin Roof and Big Red gates
We would like to make you are aware of a few things to help enhance your stay, before leaving the Stonetown area and heading off to the Paje Hotel here on the sleepy south-east coast
Local currency; TSH. Cash CAN be a BIG problem on Zanzibar!!!!
Here on the east-coast there are neither Money Exchanges nor ATM machines. TSH. is the only currency widely accepted, Credit Cards are almost useless too! we do have a credit card machine at the hotel but this also can be unreliable due to weak networks!
So please make sure you PIN/ATM or Exchange enough money into local currency TSH. on arrival in Tanzania or in Zanzibar. In Zanzibar there are several ATM’s and exchange offices at the airport and in Stonetown, but even these may NOT be working and in high season regularly run out of cash. A taxi back to Stonetown will cost you approx. $.60 and the loss of half a day holiday!
If time is allowing, it might be convenient to do a little bit of heavy shopping before you go to the hotel. Our driver can drop you off at the supermarkets in Paje and help you carry your first big shopping to the hotel saving you an extra trip.
Please take into consideration that you will be in Africa and most things don’t work as we are used to back home. Plan ahead to make things easier for yourself, questions always welcome?
